Makeing Korean friends

Hello, guys.

  I'm a Korean.
Today, I'd like to introduce how to learn Korean and make Korean friends.

  • Background Story

I live in South Korea now, but I have a plan to study abroad after September 2016 in U.S.(Philadelphia). I had to improve my English skill. For this, I decided to make friends who want to exchange a native language with me (Korean ↔ English).

  • Website I used

By looking for friends, I found a good website(http://www.mylanguageexchange.com). In this website, people who want to exchange their languages provide their information on their profiles. Moreover, you can search people. However, only purchased user(a gold member) can contact others.

  • Important Tips

I give you some tips how to contact Korean people without paid account.

  1. Install Kakao Talk (KT = 카톡)  http://www.kakao.com/main/
  2. Sign up and make your I.D.
  3. Leave your Kakao Talk I.D. on your profile in "www.mylanguageexchange.com"

In South Korea, almost people use KT in their cell phones. Therefore, you can contact Korean people who want to exchange their languages. In addition, a website administer do not forbid users to write KT I.D. on their profile until now.

  •   In the End

I recommend that you should write "Kakao Talk" instead of KT on your profile. Because, when I saw the word "KT" for the first time, I had not ever thought about "Kakao Talk" even though I have the app in my iPhone. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I realized what it meant.

  • Last but not least

If you want to help me to improve my English, please comment on this article. I can also help you to learn Korean, if you want. Thank you~!
